Plasti-Fab manufactures custom structural composite products using some of the largest fabrication set ups available. Composites are ideal for parts that require internal structures, two-sided finishes, and complex angles. Our composite manufacturing techniques offer terrific strength to weight ratios for finished parts that are lightweight, corrosion resistant, durable, and more.
Composites are used to make everything from airplanes to golf clubs. Plasti-fab uses composite materials to create structural designs.
For customized FRP Bridges we recommend Composite Advantage.
Structural Composite Solutions & Processes
Vacuum Infusion Process
Vacuum Infusion Process uses vacuum pressure to drive resin into a laminate. Materials are laid dry into the mold and the vacuum applied before resin is introduced. Once a complete vacuum is acheived, resin is literally sucked into the laminate by via carefully placed tubing.
Closed Cavity Bag Molding
Closed Cavity Bag Molding is a composite process that uses a reinforced bag that is placed in the mold over the pre cut and placed reinforcement. The resulting cavity is evacuated and resin is introduced to infuse through the mat.
Light RTM
Similar to Closed Cavity Bag Molding but employing a hard liner, usually polyester or vinyl-ester resin. Light RTM composite manufacturing provides the ability to produce 2 high gloss faces, gel-coated interior surfaces, and very precise thickness of laminate.
